There’s a certain magic in the wild places, a feeling that a whole other world is carrying on just out of sight. I’ve spent my life fascinated by that hidden world—the complex societies of animals, their bonds, and their struggles. The idea for Whispering Wilderness came from a simple question that I could never shake: What would it be like to be a young wolf, safe in your home, who suddenly realizes you have a critical role to play in that much larger, wilder world? That question became Kira's journey.

I believe the best stories don’t just entertain; they help us figure out who we are. The world can feel big and intimidating, especially when you're young. Themes like courage, loyalty, and friendship aren't just words to me; they are the tools we use to navigate our challenges. I wanted to write a story that shows that true leadership isn't about being the loudest or the strongest—it's about listening to your heart, protecting your own, and finding the courage to take that first step into the unknown, even when you're terrified.

I wrote the Whispering Wilderness trilogy for the quiet observers, the animal lovers, and for every kid with a wild and adventurous heart. It’s for anyone who has ever stood at the edge of their own woods, wondering what lies beyond. For parents and grandparents, my hope is that these books become a bridge, opening up conversations about responsibility and what it truly means to be part of a community. Ultimately, I hope Kira's adventure is a reminder that no matter how uncertain the path looks, you have the strength to find your pack and your purpose within it.
